The Old Hall in Ely is a dreamy setting for a wedding. This picturesque venue has towering brick chimneys and ornate hedgerows. And also seemingly never-ending grounds stretching out in all directions. And it’s all nestled in Cambridgeshire’s open countryside. The Old Hall boasts breathtaking views for guests to enjoy as they sip champagne in the gardens. So as you can imagine, we were over the moon to be invited to photograph and film a wedding in this elegant venue.
Wedding Ceremony in the Glass Pavilion
Ieva and Kehinde’s wedding day was gorgeous from start to finish. They exchanged vows in the glass pavilion in the grounds of The Old Hall. The pavilion is nestled amongst the gardens, with views of the Cathedral and lakes. And it looked idyllic decorated with flowers chosen by the happy couple. The benches surrounding the pavilion were populated by friends and family members of Ieva and Kehinde. It was inspiring to see the strong support network these two have available to them as they begin their married lives.

Wedding Breakfast decoration and speeches
The floral decorations continued inside as the wedding reception was filled with elegant bunches of flowers in various shades of pink. The modern glass walls of the room meant guests could enjoy the natural beauty of the gardens as they tucked into their meals. There wasn’t a dry eye in the house after the speeches! And it was an honour to capture such a personal and moving outpouring of love from other members of the wedding party.
You don’t have to spend long in the company of Ieva and Kehinde to figure out how much love they have for each other. Their fun and style came across perfectly during the first dance. As they showed off their dance moves on the chequerboard dance-floor. The dancefloor was a fun place to be as guests came together to celebrate the newlyweds. The guests, young and old, had fun making shapes on the dance floor.
The Old Hall Ely Wedding Photography Magic Hour
As the guests hit the dance-floor, I took the bride and groom outside for a moment of quiet. It the magic hour, a dream for every photographer, about an hour before the sunset. I love the shots of Ieva and Kehinde taken during sunset. The dreamy golden glow of the disappearing sun makes the perfect background for these romantic pictures of the couple sharing a private moment outside. As the sun set beneath the hills, Ieva and Kehinde walked to the pavilion where it all began. There’s a perfect shot of them sharing a kiss under the glowing pavilion as the sky dims above them.
