Hi, I am Adam a London Proposal Photographer. Welcome to my Richmond Engagement Photo Shoot Page.
An engagement photo session is a great way to get used to the camera before your big day. It’s also the perfect way to see your photographer in action, and to think about the sorts of shots you like. It also gives you an opportunity to get some professional photographs of you together without the big dress. On your wedding day, the location of your photographs will probably be limited to your venue or somewhere nearby, but for an engagement photo session, the world is your oyster.
I am photographing May-Ling and Matt’s wedding later this year, and am really looking forward to it. They were keen to do an engagement photo session too, to get some nice photographs of them before the wedding. I live in London, but am happy to travel for my work so asked May-ling and Matt decide where we took the photographs. They immediately suggested Richmond because it’s one of their favourite places to visit. Richmond is a great place to photograph, there is beauty to be found from almost every angle, so I was looking forward to seeking out some fun photograph locations. For engagement photos Richmond is a great location, there are so many areas of beauty to include.
It was a glorious day, with the sun shining down on us as we walked round Richmond. It’s the perfect setting for a romantic stroll – with its quaint cobbled street, riverside walks and beautiful gardens. We walked down to the riverside to take some photographs, I took some photographs as they walked round the riverside chatting, occasionally stopping to look out at the passing boats. Often simple backdrops make for the most beautiful pictures, and there is a great photo of May-Ling and Matt leaning against a simple painted wall. The photograph turned out beautifully, with May-Ling and Matt lit up by the sun, as the wall behind them begins to fade into darkness.

Engagement Photo Session in Richmond and Richmond Park – Isabella Plantation
Richmond is filled with beautiful places to photograph, so we were spoilt for choice. May-Ling and Matt were keen to have some photographs taken in nature, so we decided to spend part of their engagement photo session in Richmond and Richmond Park – Isabella Plantation. The Isabella Plantation is simply breathtaking, with beautiful and exotic plants spilling out into the woodland garden. May-Ling and Matt had been to Isabella Plantation for picnics in the past, and so they were keen to recreate those dates for the photographs. May-Ling brought a picnic basket, picnic blanket and some wine, and set up a picnic on the grass. The sun was still bright, though starting to set, and the evening light looks beautiful on the photograph. After the picnic, as the sun was setting, we took a stroll around the beautiful exotic gardens. I hung back slightly, photographing May-Ling and Matt as they chatted. I love taking photographs of people acting naturally, but with beautiful backdrops and from unusual angles.
My favourite shot from the day was taken in isabella Plantation as the sun was setting. As May-Ling and Matt waited on the decking overlook the river, I walked round to find the perfect shot. From the other side of the river, where the water rushed and bubbled over some shallow rocks, I found the shot I wanted. In the distance, May-Ling and Matt can be seen on the decking, framed by the deep greens and golds of the forest around them. In front of them, the calm water reflects the vivid colours of the forest, giving the photograph a magical feel. In the foreground, the water can be seen babbling over the rocks, changing the tone of the photograph. To the right of the picture, flowers and reeds grow upright through the lake, creating a dark area that immediately draws your eyes back to the couple in the distance.
