Caroline and Daniel wanted their wedding photos to include as many aspects of these breath-taking gardens as possible. After the ceremony, the newlyweds took a stroll around the estate, allowing me to capture their first real moments as a married couple, in one of the most beautiful wedding venues in Berkshire. Caroline and Daniel walked hand in hand through the infamous long garden, embraced in front of the fountain of love, and drank champagne on the balcony. A glance at their wedding photographs shows all the highlights of this unique and prestigious venue. Set in Berkshire, the house is steeped in history, and dates back over 300 years. For a Cliveden House wedding photographer elegance and beauty are here in abundance. From the imposing wooden stairway, to the stunning lake views, there is plenty of beauty to capture. The photographs of guests milling around are made ever more special by the awe-inspiring natural beauty in the background. The life of a wedding photographer is never dull. As you can imagine, I spend a lot of my time in idyllic venues, surrounded by smiling people enjoying life’s beautiful moments. One of my favourite venues to visit, is Cliveden House. I have loved being a Cliveden House wedding photographer ever since I captured my first wedding there. Cliveden House Hotel is one of those wedding venues that really takes your breath away. Built in 1666, this house has been home to a great many parties over the years. From Victorian royalty to modern day celebrities, this house has hosted a great number of high profile guests. This impressive country retreat has been visited by almost every British Monarch since George I. Set in 376 acres of picturesque National Trust gardens, this five star award-winning luxury hotel was the perfect backdrop for Caroline and Daniel’s special occasion. The photos capture the expanse and magnificence of these impressive gardens in the sunlight, and the beautiful architecture of the house by moonlight. The photos show the whole day, from the bride’s dress being fastened, to the evening drinks bar, I was there to capture as much of the day as possible. Caroline and Daniel wanted the photos to tell the story of their wedding in a way that would bring the day to life for years to come. For the guests who couldn’t make it, the photos allow them to experience the day as it happened. Using mostly documentary wedding photography, I was able to capture the emotion of the day. Rather than directing the shot, I was merely an observer capturing the scene playing out in front of me.
These photographs showcase the beauty of the blushing bride, and the joy of her new husband, but they also show the quieter moments. The knowing smiles, the nervous laughs and the loving glances, my photographs capture this otherwise untold story. The photos depict a thoughtful bride getting ready, laughing newlyweds signing the wedding certificate, and the happy couple walking together in the magnificent gardens. These experiences, the ‘in between’ moments, are what makes each wedding unique, and that is what I like my photos to show. Caroline and Daniel also wanted a number of posed photographs to include in their wedding photography. These images, of the couple and their parents standing in front of the elegant columns at the venue, or of the newlyweds enjoying each other’s company in the awe-inspiring gardens, sit alongside the documentary style images in this collection.
