Wedding Video Highlights of Jane and Nana at Syon Park in London

Wedding Photos of Jane and Nana at Syon Park House in London

The wedding of Jane and Nana was a perfect example of what a great wedding day should be about. And that is simply a celebration of love and connection of two people surrounded by their families and friends. You will see some great shots as well as wedding video highlights from their Big Day. I approached my Syon Park wedding photography on the day in relaxed and natural style. Focusing on emotions, and events of the day as they were happening. All in an unobtrusive way, photographing all the big moments as well as the small ones in between. My aim was to create a beautiful story of their wedding day. The ceremony took place in the main hall of the Syon Park House and the reception was at the grand Conservatory, with great dancing and speeches. As always I wanted to tell the story with wedding photographs that have a meaning, both to the couple and the guests. But also to every one who was not able to make it to the wedding but wanted to get the feeling of what was happening on the day.

A bit of History of Syon Park House in London

Syon House is the London home of the Duke of Northumberland. Syon House was built on the site of the Medieval Syon Abbey. The foundation stone of the Abbey was laid by Henry V in 1415. The Abbey become influential and important, with close links to the Tudor dynasty. Thanks to recent archaeological work, we now know that the location of Syon Abbey was under the meadows between the current House and the river. The Abbey was dissolved, and Syon was taken back under royal control. Under the ownership of Edward Seymour, Duke of Somerset, the Abbey complex was transformed into a grand private house. In 1594, Syon passed to Henry Percy, the 9th Earl of Northumberland, and remains in the Percy family to this day. The Percy family have updated the estate and gardens throughout the years, with each generation making their mark upon this historic building. Recently, the estate has been extensively restored to maintain its rich history. The Great hall was repainted using the original colours, and other rooms have been restored. Original materials and building practices are used wherever possible.

With over 600 years of extensive gardening knowledge and expertise, it is hardly surprising that the gardens at Syon House make the ideal backdrop for your wedding photos. A walk through the formal gardens, meadows and woodlands at this estate will provide plenty of opportunities for natural wedding photography. Boasting 200 acres of grassland and parkland rich in biodiversity, wildflowers and ancient oak trees, the parkland at Syon House is exquisite. Two of the trees are known to date back to the 1600s, showing how long this beautiful scenery has been protected. A recent focus on tree planting means the parklands now boast over 400 different varieties of trees. Syon House itself makes the ideal backdrop for wedding pictures. The turrets and stone and imposing nature of Syon Park mean it looks just fantastic on photographs. It is like something straight out of a fairy tale, so we’ll be sure to get some gorgeous location shots of Syon Park in all its finery. The interior of the building has lots to offer, too. Walking into Syon House is like stepping back in time thanks to the intricate restoration work. The Great Hall is a magnificent space steeped in splendour, with tiled floors, intricate detailing and fine statues. The fresh and airy Great Hall makes a perfect setting for natural shots. In contrast to the Great Hall, the Ante Room is deep, dark and mysterious with marble columns and gold detailing. The flooring is nothing short of a masterpiece. The room is a great setting for some newlywed shots. The Great Conservatory is a beautiful place to host a wedding breakfast. With the abundance of natural light and the fresh, airy feel of the space, it is perfect for natural wedding photography. The high domed roof looks spectacular in pictures; it perfectly showcases the elegant wow factor of this historic venue.
