As a Mandarin Oriental Wedding Photographer was honoured to be asked to photograph Cey and Hassan’s wedding. They’re such a great couple, and I knew their wedding would be lots of fun. I started my day taking photos of Cey and her bridesmaids getting ready in the bridal suite. I like capturing the moments before the ceremony, as the bride nervously prepares to say her vows. That feeling before you walk down the aisle – the nerves, the excitement, the breathlessness – is something I want my images to capture. I hope that each time Cey looks through these images, she is reminded of that feeling, and the love she felt for Hassan that morning.
There are so many beautiful features at The Mandarin Oriental Hotel, and I wanted to include as many as possible in my photos. After all, Cey and Hassan chose the venue because they thought it was beautiful. There is a wonderful photograph of Cey stood with her back to me, arms outstretched, as she waits to be told to go down to the ceremony room. I use the significant features of the venue to frame my photos, and for this one, the unusual ceiling acted as a frame for Cey’s waiting.
After the ceremony, I took Cey and Hassan out to take some posed photographs. Since we were just down the road from Hyde Park, we decided to drive down and take some photos in the park. That’s one of the reasons why this venue is so special, you can have the ‘London’ wedding, but still have the beautiful gardens on your wedding photos. At Hyde Park, Cey and Hassan posed under a bridge together so I could take some photographs. One of my favourites was taken from inside the bridge, it’s a stylish black and white photograph. I like to offer a mix of photography types, and Cey and Hassan were keen to get some arty snaps as well as the reportage and posed shots.
Cey and Hassan were really great to work with, and their love for each other was obvious as we worked our way round the elegant rooms taking photos. There’s a photo of Cey and Hassan, standing close on the magnificent stairway, with the bright sunshine beaming down on them through the skylights in the domed ceiling. It was such a perfect day, with glorious weather and happy guests, and I hope this picture always reminds them of that.

Boasting breath-taking views of the skyline and hustle and bustle of Knightsbridge, as well as the the pleasant greenery of Hyde Park. The hotel has a timeless elegance that makes it the perfect venue for an elegant wedding. I love shooting weddings at The Mandarin Oriental, not only is the hotel itself a stunning photo backdrop, but you are only minutes away from wide open spaces and green trees.
From the outside, Mandarin Oriental London Hotel is a grand and imposing building. Whether shrouded in sunlight, or lit up at night, the architecture is beautiful and a great joy having here wedding photography. On the inside, the building is even better. The large dark marble staircase, with its tall arched ceilings, demands attention from the eye. From the tall french doors of the hotel, guests can walk directly into the quiet courtyard and enjoy some peace amongst the trees.
