Wedding Photos of Mel and Colin at Tower bride in London

Hi, I am Adam, a London Wedding Photographer and Videographer. London is full of unique and unusual wedding venues, and Tower Bridge is one of the best. This award winning venue boasts breath-taking city views, a stylish interior and function rooms to be proud of. I was thrilled when Mel and Colin asked me to be their Tower Bridge wedding photographer, and was looking forward to capturing their big day in this impressive venue. It’s not possible to be in two places at once, so I’m usually charged with photographing either the bride or groom preparing for the wedding. Mel and Colin were getting ready at the same hotel, and this meant I was able to photograph both of them as they were getting ready for the big day. I started my day at the barbers with Colin, as he had a traditional shave to look his best for the day ahead. Not many of the weddings I’ve photographed have started in this way, so it was exciting to be invited along to capture this tradition. After the barbers, we travelled by black cab to Colin’s hotel room. I photographed Colin and his friend in the back of the cab as we drove across Tower Bridge. The next time Colin crossed the bridge, it would be to say his wedding vows. Once we reached the hotel, I went to photograph Mel and her bridesmaids getting ready. It’s unusual for me to be with both the bride and groom before the ceremony, but it was great to be able to photograph them both on this occasion. They were both in high spirits, and kept asking me questions about the other – which I refused to answer, of course!

Mel and Colin asked me to use reportage style photography to capture the speeches after the wedding breakfast. Colin gave a heart-warming speech, and Mel stood up to embrace him at the end. It was a beautiful moment as the couple remembered the importance of the day while their guests applauded. Later in the evening, Mel sang a song dedicated to Colin. She sang alongside the band, and Colin looked on in amazement. It was such a beautiful moment, and I love how the photograph turned out.

One of my favourite shots of the day, was taken inside the venue just before the ceremony. The guests were waiting for the wedding to begin, and, unbeknownst to them, Mel was preparing to walk down the aisle. Taken from inside the ceremony room, the photograph shows guests waiting a dimly lit room. In the background, Mel can be seen in her wedding dress, lit up by sunlight pouring through the ceiling lights above. I specialise in reportage style wedding photography, capturing the day as it happens. I met with Mel and Colin before the wedding to determine any moments they definitely wanted to see in their wedding album. Mel asked me to capture Colin’s face when he first saw her on the day of the wedding. The resulting photograph shows Mel walking down the aisle, and in the background Colin can be seen with what can only be described as a sly smile on his face. Mel and Colin chose a beautiful venue, and wanted to make the most of the stunning views for their wedding album. Luckily I’m not scared of heights, so we made our way to the top of the tower for a few photographs straight after the ceremony. There is a fantastic photograph of Mel and Colin at the top of the tower, looking out across the Thames. In the background, London’s iconic skyline is lit up by sun. Colin was wearing a sentimental pocket watch on the day of the wedding, and he mentioned to me how important it was to him. I took a photograph of Colin looking at his watch, while he and Mel stood at the top of Tower Bridge, just above the cars hurtling past below.
