I don’t want you to think I’m bragging, but yes, I was lucky enough to travel to Israel to photograph another wedding. Again working with fellow wedding photographer, Asaf. I was invited to to capture Merav and Andy’s wedding. Merav and Andy are a very fun couple, and I was honoured to be asked to be their wedding photographer. I knew that the day would be filled with fun, humour and love – the perfect recipe for an enjoyable wedding day. For a wedding photographer Israel offers the best of both worlds. There are beautiful beaches with idyllic blue oceans, and there are areas of rich greenery shrouded in natural beauty. Merav and Andy picked the perfect location for their Israel wedding. The shots of Merav and her bridesmaids getting ready for the day, show the breath-taking ocean in the background. Away from the hustle and bustle of life, Merav was surrounded by the serenity of the sea as she prepared to marry the love of her life. As is traditional for many weddings in Israel, the couple met before the ceremony to have their photographs taken. Asaf and myself spent a couple of hours taking photos of the couple and their wedding party. There’s a lovely photograph of the wedding party taking a stroll down the beach, Merav and Andy are in the foreground, with their bridesmaids and groomsmen following behind.
One of my favourite photos from the day, is a shot taken on the beach at sunset. I went for a walk with Merav and Andy, and as they shared a romantic moment on the quiet beach, I was able take a photo of the sun disappearing between their silhouettes. It’s a really beautiful shot, and really captures the picture-perfect location the couple chose. The ceremony took place in the evening, under the light of the moon. The chuppah was located in a picturesque garden, surrounded by green leafy trees, flowering shrubs and wildflowers. It was the perfect location, and I was able to capture a shot of the set up before the guests arrived. I also took a photograph of this scene with the happy couple sharing a private moment in the corner of the shot, it’s such a beautiful photograph. It captures the beauty of the location as well as the intimacy of the day.

Merav and Andy asked us to capture also the moments they would miss during the wedding. So, during the ceremony, I took some documentary style photos of the guests watching the ceremony. I love this style of photography, because you can see how happy the couple’s friends and family are to be sharing in this special moment. I took a number of reportage style shots throughout the day, to make sure the couple didn’t miss any of the fun of the day. Once the ceremony was over, it was time to unwind with some drinks and dancing. I knew this would be a good party, because Merav and Andy are a couple who like to have fun. I wasn’t wrong, and the party was soon in full swing. Using reportage style photography, I captured the party as a fly on the wall. My photographs tell the story of the laughter, the dancing and the happiness that was shared between guests at the reception. Andy was thrown into the air on a silk sheet, and then leapt across a line of his best friends (who looked more than a little bit scared). Merav and Andy spent the evening dancing together and having fun. They played the drums, wore comedy glasses, danced side by side through a tunnel made of their guests’ arms, and shared quiet moments together when no-one was watching. I think it’s fair to say, they had a pretty great day.
